ICC+S-AIR Residency Programe

The Aim of ICC+S-AIR Residency programme

Hokkaido is the most Northern part of Japan and Sapporo is located in this immersive island. Originally inhabited by native Ainu, Hokkaido’s development began when Japanese from the main island moved up to cultivate. Although Sapporo is settled in 1869, it made significant growth and now being the fifth largest city in this country. Interestingly, Sapporo belongs to Arctic climate, which leads to establish especially unique culture and customs unlike elsewhere in Japan.

Developing creative resources within Sapporo is the aim of this program. Our residents will cultivate for "new" subject matter considering city resources; natural environment, industries, culture and local talented people…etc. Invited artists and domestic people get together to expand the creativity within Sapporo. In addition to regular applicant (see below), any new media artists and creators are highly welcomed. Their activities are including; technology art, media art, filmmaking, design, manga, photography and interactive web application.

This program is directed by S-AIR.
Sponsored by Inter-x-cross Creative Center.
